David J. Welker, 67, of SLC, UT passed in the early morning hours on May 8, 2014 after a 4 week battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Belleville, Illinois, the son of Edward and Viola Welker. He attended Signal Hill, Belleville Township HS and later SIU. He excelled in sports and music, specializing in the trumpet.
David was married to Judith Rine for 24 years and had three daughters together. Michelle (Brett) Newland, Jessica Welker and Erin Graham. They later divorced. He married his sweetheart, Ann Newton on June 8, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ann had two daughters, Kristin (Ben) Welch and Asia (Cole) Cummings that he raised for 20 years.
David is survived by his wife, daughters and 9 grandchildren; Braedon, Annika, Adrian, Benjamin, Holden, Karmen, Greyson, Jeffrey and Lilly and many friends and family.
Preceded by his parents and daughter Jessica.
Services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Holladay 24th Ward Chapel in SLC, UT. Visitation held Friday, May 30, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday, from 10:30 to 11:45 AM. A celebration of life will follow at the Welker home.
