Clare Elder

1978 ~ 2014

On the 10th of September 2014, Margaret Chatwin lost the love of her life, and her daughter Sierra lost a father figure and partner in crime. We lost a Son (Bob and Katie Elder of River Heights, UT), a Brother, a Grandson (Phyllis Salisbury of Salt Lake City, UT), an Uncle and Friend.

Due to complications resulting from a sudden illness, Clare passed while he was with his parents, and his two beloved Boxer Dogs (Sugar and Duncan), knowing his dogs were well loved and not alone.

Clare was such an important part of our lives; so many people loved him and will miss him. The world was a better place while he was here. Clare lived in Roosevelt where he and Margaret, and her daughter, built their homes as well as assisted with the building of several homes in the neighborhood.

Clare loved his family, music, the outdoors, and gardening. He was a perfectionist, "a bit" stubborn, opinionated and sarcastic. He was funny and amazing. We loved him and will miss him more than he could ever know.

Please join us in one of the celebrations of his life. We have chosen to honor him in both of the cities he called home as well as Salt Lake where he and Margaret shared so many wonderful times ‚ like the time when his car was broken into; he lost a beloved coffee mug and pocket change, fortunately his tools and laptop were safe even though they were in the car as well.
