Neils Clove Little

1926 ~ 2016

Neils was taken from this earth on August 13, 2016 in his 90th year.

Dad was born in Glendale, Kane County, Utah. He served in the tail end of WWII. He graduated from basic training on VE Day at Fort Knox, KY and he was in the Mounted Police in South Korea for a year. Thanks to the GI Bill and a mosquito that gave him Malaria, he was put into the rehabilitation program with the VA. He graduated from Utah State in 1951 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. He began working teaching veterans On the Farm Training in Enterprise and Beryl, UT and then he worked at the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Office in Tooele. He was working at Thiokol in the burning pits when he met Margaret Ruth Phelps at a LDS church dance at the Salt Lake Tennis Courts on July 24, 1958. He married Mom on May 28, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Garland and Brigham City before moving to Ammon, Idaho where Dad began teaching Biology at the local junior high school. It was not long before they returned back to Salt Lake and he began a long career working at the Radiology Lab at the University of Utah. After retiring, he worked at the Pet Stop for Dr Allen, DVM and then as a door greeter at NPS Market Square for 6 years.

He loved his family, neighbors and working in his yard. He enjoyed the many years he served as the Ward Mission Leader.

He is survived by his daughters Marlene and Margaret, his sister in law Vivian and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Cannon Stake Center, 934 West Fremont Street in Salt Lake City. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and on Saturday morning from 9:30 ‚ 10:30 am prior to the services at the church.
