Kalen Cole Hansen

2001 ~ 2020

Our loving son Kalen Cole Hansen passed away Wednesday March 4, 2020 at 18 years old. Born on April 11, 2001 in Salt Lake City to Sean and Kathi Hansen. He was always so talented and smart, full of life, adventurous and could always make you laugh. He graduated from Corner Canyon High School where he was part of the band as a talented musician playing the clarinet, and had recently attended Salt Lake Community College where he was pursuing an education in aviation technology.

Kalen was always a pleasure to watch when he was wake boarding, four wheeling, biking, skateboarding or camping. He always made the adventure one to remember, because he did it with flare, or some funny voice, or quoted lines from Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan. It seemed to be the goal of Kalen to get his Mom to laugh, and he did it so often with the help of his father. Kalen had become very competent in fixing things and was our number one go to guy in helping around the house. He is his Dad's best friend and favored person to work with, and knew how to really work hard, but also knew how to play hard. He loved going to Lake Powell where he wake-boarded, slalom skied, and Battle tubed with his good friends and family. The time on his Four-Wheeler inevitably would result in a face covered in dirt or mud, and this was where he felt comfortable and happy. He always enjoyed travel, and trying new foods like crème brûle, buffalo burgers, and termites, but was always partial to his Mom's spaghetti. Fun began when friends and family arrived, and his desire for kindness and fairness was always present in all he did. He will be missed greatly by his dog Penny, and all who had the good fortune to know him.

Survived by his parents Sean & Kathi Hansen; sister and brother-in-law Alaina & Tyler Dalpiaz; grandparents Hugh & Aleta Jacobs, Dennis Hansen, Gary & Arla Jensen; uncles and aunts Mike & Holly Hansen, Brandie Johnson, Jared & Cendi Hansen, Leila Hansen, Dawn Hansen, Kristi Carlson, Shawn & Karen Eisenzimmer, Thomas & Kimberly Yu, Kendra Berrett; and SO MANY loving cousins, great aunts and uncles, extended family members and adopted family members that now feel the loss of Kalen.

Preceded in death by Victor & Hillegard Hansen, Frank & Francis McClure, Howard & Valear Jensen, Arland & Elizabeth Grover.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy.
