Jean A. Allen

1914 ~ 2014

Our dear mother, after recently attaining the age of 100, returned to her Heavenly Father on October 30, 2014. Jean Allen Allen was born on September 26, 1914 to Asael Lucian and Charlotte Blanch Orell Allen in Hyrum, Utah. She attended South Cache High School where she was Student Body Vice President and valedictorian. She graduated from Utah State University where she affiliated with Chi Omega Sorority and was chosen as All Campus Coed.

She married Joseph Hardy Allen on June 29, 1937 in the Logan Temple. She was a devoted, loving and very supportive mother to her family. She created fun traditions that made holidays special for four generations of family.

Jean has been a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities but her favorite calling was on the Young Women's General Board for 11 years. She also served 16 years as a Hostess and secretary/treasurer for Church Office Building Hostesses.

She loved to travel and visited many interesting and exotic places. Jean and Joe celebrated their 50th Anniversary in Hawaii and their 60th at Bear Lake surrounded by family. They loved boating, summering at Bear Lake and wintering in Palm Desert for 25 years.

Survived by daughters Julienne (Ralph) Thomson, Pamela (Richard) Kinnersley, and Vicki Jo, 10 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, sister Chrystal Christensen, and her son-in-law Ralph.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 6, 12 noon at Monument Park 15th Ward, 1320 S Wasatch Drive. Viewing at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Wednesday November 5 from 6-8pm and Thursday 10:30 to 11:30am prior to services at ward. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
