Marjory Joyce Moeller Budd

1919 ~ 2017

Surrounded by love and eternal gratitude, Marjory Joyce Moeller Budd peacefully passed through the veil and returned home on May 9, 2017, where her loving husband Jim was waiting to embrace his sweetheart after living and loving beautifully for 97 and Ω years.

Marjory was born on November 9, 1919 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to William Karl Ludwig Moeller and Margaret Augusta Weiss. She was born with a beautiful voice and a love of music; she taught herself to play piano and organ by ear, sang in many choirs, and served as a chorister for all church organizations for years. She also served as a teacher and in various presidencies, and as a scribe for her husband James as he gave Patriarchal Blessings for 25 years.

Marjory and James met for the first time when she was only 16 years old, and he was serving as a missionary in Milwaukee. Three years later, James saw Marjory at a train station at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, only she was no longer the tomboyish teenager from Wisconsin, but a beautiful young college student. The rest is history. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 9, 1939. They bought their first house in 1947 where they raised their two children, Joyce and Brent, and continued to call that house home for 70 wonderful years.

Marjory's children and grandchildren loved Mom's fun collections—her Christmas Village, miniature spoons, tea-cups and saucers, lighthouses, thimbles, and clocks. She loved to paint figurines, sew, work in her yard and garden with Jim, and loved to travel. Marjory had been to all but five U.S. states.

She especially loved and valued her relationships with others. She kept in touch regularly with many cousins, nieces and nephews, and especially her dear friend Betty Hansen. She would watch the news every day and recount all the stories during her evening calls to her children. She was quick-witted, had an amazing memory, and knew a little something about everything. And now, she finally knows the mystery of what happened to her favorite pictures of Germany and her brother, Freddie.

Marjory is preceded in death by everybody—her parents, William and Margaret, her husband James H. Budd, Step-Mother Huldah, Brother Freddy, Sister Irene, and Step-Granddaughter Erin, as well as Jim's parents, brothers, and sisters.

She is survived by her children; Joyce La Ree Budd Jones (Howard Jones), Brent James Budd (Kimberly P Budd), Grandchildren; Robyn, Michelle, Tristin, Jamie, Great Grandchildren; Joshua, Chelsie, Kooper, Keaton, Hailey, Cameryn, Bryce, Lexi, Morgan, Step Great Grandchildren; Harper Truman, Ryan, and Cole and Step-Grandchildren; Taylor, Eli and Trace.

Our family offers very special thanks to the staff of Legacy Village Assisted Living Memory Care- Liz, Mylinda, Maggie, Jerry, all the Med-Techs and CNA's. We would like to thank especially Brighton Hospice—Nurse Jamie, Whitney, and Kristin for all their loving care and support, as well as family and special friends.
