Rebecca Hauck Wykstra

1966 ~ 2017

Rebecca Hauck Wykstra, dearly beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away at McKay-Dee hospital on Oct. 31, 2017 from complications with a blood clot.

Becky was born on Nov. 4, 1966, in Fairfax County, Virginia, to Ric and Laura Hauck. She was the first and only daughter of seven children. Becky loved to tell the story of traveling as a three year old with her parents to live in Istanbul Turkey for three years. She was raised in Bountiful. She attended Bountiful High, BYU Idaho, UVU, and the U of U. After raising 5 children she finished her degree earning a BS in Elementary Education.

She also held many church positions. Her strong devotion to our Heavenly Father led her to serve an LDS mission in Tallahassee, Florida. Shortly thereafter she met David Wesley Wykstra and they were married, September 20, 1990, in the Salt Lake Temple. Her greatest joy in life was her family and her five children. She loved them dearly and taught them the gospel through wonderful example and family scripture study. She has five strong children who are stalwart in their testimonies. She was adored by her nieces and nephews.

Becky was an exceptionally talented teacher. She began her career at Jefferson Academy in Kaysville and then for the Davis School district at Tolman and J A Taylor Elementary schools in Centerville. Becky was by nature a loving individual and a nurturer. She loved her students. Many parents have expressed appreciation for Becky\s help with their child.

She was known as a kind, non-judgmental individual who championed those less known. She was a refined, graceful example of one of our Father's daughters and was undoubtedly welcomed home as a choice spirit.

Becky is survived by her husband, David, her five children, Michael Ammon and Justin David (returned missionaries), by Sarah Elizabeth (still serving a mission in West Virginia), and by Ryan Aaron and Heather Anne. Her parents Forrest Richard Hauck and Laura Anne Leavitt Hauck. Her brothers are Jason (Nancy), Greg (Jill), Michael (Melinda), Chris (Deborah), Stephen (Melene), and Brandon (Monique) Hauck and their combined 29 children. Her in-laws Wes and Barbara Wykstra and their children, Carol Pederson, Chris (Jenny) Wykstra, James (Mae) Wykstra, Marian (Jon) Bott.

How we love you, dearest Becky!
