Alonzo Blaine Pierce

1950 ~ 2017

Blaine left home to our Heavenly Father's presence on January 28, 2017. He was born July 16, 1950 in Vernal, Utah to Rex Brandon Pierce and Melba Leah Atwood. He was the fifth of five children. He was a father, grandfather and friend to many.

Blaine served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Alberta Saskatchewan Canada Mission. Following his mission, he attended the Church School in Hawaii. Blaine married Jane Rigby Whitesides on August 2, 1974 and was blessed with six great boys. They were later divorced.

Blaine was blessed with many talents including: singing, acting, cooking, decorating, building, laughing, crafting and on and on. Blaine participated in many plays in his local community. He was the King in the King and I, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof and Don Quixote in Don Quixote. He loved to share the talent of his voice with all those around him. Blaine also loved to do floral designs and decorating for people in Vernal. He would plan weddings and do floral arrangements for them. He also worked for a short time at Modern Display designing for them. Blaine's six boys will all tell you that many of their talents are attributed to their dad's abilities. Blaine graduated from Utah State University while he had six children, which showed his ability to accomplish difficult tasks. He was challenged throughout his life and was able to overcome many of his challenges.

He is survived by his six sons, Cort (Lynette), Clark (Marrya), Jeremy (Emily), Matt (Krystal), Nelson (Anne), Andrew (Jessica), 16 beautiful grandchildren, and two sisters Darlene and Connie. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Billy and Wayne.

Blaine will be buried in the Vernal Cemetery where he will join his Mother (Melba) and Father (Rex). A private family memorial service will be held in his honor.

Guestbook/Condolences

My dear Jane-o, this is Brother Tetsuro Fujita from Japan. I just happened to come to think of Blaine-o and came to learn that he had gone to the next stage a few years back. It is a sad news, but I am happy to know that he stayed in his covenants with our Heavenly Father. I pray for him as well as for you and your children. It will be a marvelous re-union in the spirit world, don’t you think?

Toshiko and I will start our 2nd mission call up in Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan on January 25, 2021. The Frozen The Chosen? We shall find out!!! Take care!!!

Love and lots of prayers
