Robert Bohn Milius

1917 ~ 2015

Robert Bohn Milius, 97, passed away of causes incident to age on January 15, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Bob was born to George Milius and Bertha Bohn on November 4, 1917 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. His family moved to Salt Lake City, where he enjoyed his childhood and later graduated from South High in 1934. Bob went on to become a Master Craft Upholster working for Intermountain Furniture, Dinwoody's and Custom Furniture before he retired in 1979. Bob married the love of his life, Renon Snarr, on December 31, 1940. They shared over 61 years together before she passed away 2002. We as a family thank them for the strong examples they set, and the blueprints they created for us to grow during our lives.

Retired over thirty years, Bob enjoyed golfing with his brothers-in-law, sons and grandson, as well as, canning and giving away the fruits of his labor from his massive vegetable garden. He became a voracious reader, starting with westerns and working his way through a variety of genres. Bob also enjoyed walking around his neighborhood and sitting on his front porch while listening to the sounds of a ball game coming from the television inside. He was beloved by his neighbors, who appreciated his friendly nature and kind and giving spirit. He especially loved teasing with children—he had a knack for making them smile. He was known to carry tootsie pops in his pocket to give to any kids he saw during his walks.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Susan) and Joe (Gayle), four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; as well as two sisters-in-law, Berneice Hodges and Betty Lou Milius.

Special Thanks to Inspiration Hospice for the exceptional care and kindness.
