Judy Bennett Childs, age 76, passed away Feb. 9, 2015 in Riverton, Utah. She was born Aug. 7, 1938 in Payson, Utah to Evron Samuel Bennett and Edna Luretha Jarvis Bennett and was the 7th of their 8 children, growing up in Payson. She was the 1st attendant of the Onion Days Celebration. She married Floyd M. Childs in the Salt Lake Temple.
Our mother fulfilled countless roles in her lifetime. She was an active member of the LDS Church, and had served in many callings including in the Primary for 22 years. She loved working in her yard and was especially fond of pink roses. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles, sewing, and she was a gifted artist and could draw anything. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Floyd; their son Kevin R. Childs (Jeri), and daughter Bonnie Mackay (Kevin), both of Salt Lake City; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother Ervon Ray Bennett (Bea) of North Carolina. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Helen, Ken, Richard, Tess, Joyce and Anna Lou.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 16 at 11am in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah with viewings Sunday 6-8pm and Monday 10-10:45am and interment to follow the service. Online condolences at www.larkincares.com
