Joanne Wirthlin Duncan Bradshaw

1931 ~ 2016

Joanne Wirthlin Duncan Bradshaw passed away June 26, 2016 in South Jordan, Utah. She was born January 6, 1931, to Homer and Edith Duncan. She graduated from East High School and then the University of Utah. Joanne's friends from her youth were hers for a lifetime.

She married Dean Bradshaw and made a home in the East Mill Creek area. As a mother she was kind, compassionate, generous, and accepting. After 22 years of marriage, Joanne began her career as a teacher in Granite District. With a great love for children and children's literature, Joanne returned to the U and earned her master's degree in Library Science. She was a Media Center librarian until her retirement.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as Relief Society president, stake Young Women counselor, and Primary teacher. In 1996-97, Joanne served as secretary to the president of the Alabama Birmingham Mission. She loved the people of Alabama.

Joanne spent the last ten months of her life at Sagewood Asst. Living. She made many dear friends among the residents and staff.

Living family members include: her daughters Christine McCormick, Becky and Gary Rogers, Cathlynn Bradshaw, and Judy and Dan Gustafson, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and many cousins.

The family wishes to thank Sagewood and Brighton Hospice for the loving care provided during Joanne's final days.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016, at the East Mill Creek Stake Center, 3103 E 3640 S (Craig Drive), at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, on Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday at the church from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
