Elva \"Elaine\" Nordahl Dorrity

1929 ~ 2015

Loving tribute to the most amazing, loving and selfless woman to have ever blessed this earth. Elaine passed away Tuesday, September 8, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 3, 1929, the daughter of Francis Jacob and Elva Johanson Nordahl. She married Bobbie Lamont Dorrity, June 12, 1951, Bobbie preceded her in death, October 9, 2008. She looked forward to their sweet reunion.

Family was always first and foremost in her daily thoughts and actions. She was the glue that held the family together. Her home was the gathering place and sanctuary for all.

People would come from miles around to enjoy (or be taught) her traditional Swedish cooking. When visiting you always left with a full belly and a warm heart.

Her loving touch and healing hands were felt by all she served as an RN during her 45 years of nursing. Her family extended beyond relatives to include anyone who crossed her path.

She was a faithful member and example of the LDS Church. Teaching primary brought joy and fulfillment to her and the children she taught. She often said: "Remember who you are and what you represent!"

She is survived by her children, Theresa (Chris), Lamont (Janalee), Lorretta and Patricia; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Swede (Shirley) Nordahl and sister, Lorretta Bowman. Not to mention a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:30 am, at the Westland 4th Ward, 7171 South 2700 West. Visitations will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Saturday at the ward from 10 to 11:15 am. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
