Cecilia Mary Heckel Evans of Sandy, Utah died peacefully surrounded by family on September 8, 2015. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 21, 1948. She was the eldest of three girls and grew up in Portland and Salem, Oregon. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno where she met her husband Dean Durrell Evans. They were married On July 18, 1970 in Salem, Oregon and were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to Sandy, Utah in 1979 where they raised their four children.
She enjoyed needlework, fishing and reading mystery novels. Together with her sisters, she pursued extensive work in gathering and publishing their families\ history. She loved her children and grandchildren and was very involved in their lives.
Cecilia is survived by her husband, children Teresa Robinson (Brian), Joseph (Emily), Gregory and Mark, sisters Mary Angove (Robert), Kathleen Heckel, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Cameo Park Ward, 8909 South 1700 East. A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm and on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services. Graveside services will be held Monday afternoon at 3:00 pm at the Peterson, Utah Cemetery, North Morgan Valley Drive. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
