Fred Hoefer

1984 ~ 2014

Fred Hoefer passed away unexpectedly May 5, 2014.

He was born August 2, 1984 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second son and eighth child to Patricia Harvey and Jim Hoefer. Fred enjoyed anime, woodworking, electronics, playing saxophone and the literary and artistic side of martial arts. His great loves in life were the theater and sword fighting.

The group he began sword fighting with became his second family in the way they helped, comforted, supported, and loved him. We are so grateful to you for all that you were to Fred. Thank you for your love!! Thanks also to the Clinton and Leola Wagner family--Benjamin, Sarah, James and Daniel--for loving him as part of your family, adding to the love we gave him as part of ours. Your kindness and love will be remembered and appreciated by us all forever.

Fred didn\t have an unkind bone in his body. He was loving, generous and humble. He would be astounded to know the depth of sorrow we all feel at his passing. He was a good son, a great brother and a fun uncle who would always take time to play and tease.

Preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece, Fred is survived by his parents; his siblings, Ruth (Rick) Peay, Clarrisa (Troy) Bartholomew, Edward Hoefer, Dolly (Cody) Case, Mary (Jon) Wilson, Lydia (Bobbie) Roberts, Carolyn Hoefer, Lela (Sam) White, Amanda (Mike) Whitaker; 24 nieces and nephews; and 3 great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held May 24, at 10:00 at the LDS chapel on 760 N. 1200 W. in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held an hour before the meeting. He will be interred in the Pleasant Green Cemetery in Magna.
