Russ passed away on December 4, 2014 in Murray, Utah. He was born October 17, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Emerson Fields and Helen Reed Ritchie. He moved with his family to Evanston, Wyoming in 1948. There he, with his young neighborhood friends, wandered the sagebrush covered hills seeking horned toads and other interesting creatures. A few years later, he and his family returned to Utah, to Ogden, where he graduated from Ogden High School.
Because of his life-long love of cars, he sold them and repaired them and pampered them ‚ especially his award-winning candy-apple-green 1940 Ford coupe street rod. He also adored the Boston Terriers, Persian cats and occasional strays he cared for over the years.
Russ leaves behind his Ford coupe; sister, Linda Archibald; niece, Teresa; as well as several cousins and their families.
