Robert Edward Wells

1931 ~ 2015

Robert Edward Wells, 84, passed away on August 4, 2015. Bob was born in Victor, Utah on February 19, 1931 to James Kershew Wells and Vena Mae Pierce. He was the fourth of eight children. Bob grew up in Hanksville and Wellington, Utah. He loved living on the farm.

Bob married Carrol Lambert on September 14, 1956 in Wellington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised five children in Salt Lake City. Bob was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also loved his many nieces and nephews. Each one knew that they were his favorite.

Bob volunteered to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. During that time he had the opportunity to see much of the world.

Bob owned his own business, Robert E. Wells House Movers. The business's motto was, "We move anything anywhere!" and for over forty years he did just that. His work ethic was very strong.

Throughout his life, Bob was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings in the LDS church. He enjoyed hours as a boy scout leader. He earned awards for himself as well as helping and encouraging his son and grandsons to advance in scouting.

Bob was skilled at wood working. He liked spending hours in his shop. His finished projects were as smooth as glass. He also had a knack for fixing things. He was very creative and could figure out how to build almost anything.

In addition to taking care of his garden, Bob liked spending time with his birds. He kept chickens, pheasants and doves for years. Among his other talents and interests were music, playing the guitar, learning to speak Spanish, travel and anything to do with horses and the outdoors.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents James and Vena Wells; brothers, Dal Wells, Ray (and Jean) Wells and Lynn Wells; sisters, Leah Wells and Ann (and James) Watt.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carrol Wells; children, Roxane Wells, Kim (Charles) Stewart, Cindy Jensen, Clay (Amy) Wells and Shauna (Brett) Tea; grandchildren, Lacey, Levi, Dane, Sadie, Ethan, Mia, Morgan, Autumn, Emerson, Luke, Drew, Sky and Lynn; great-grandchildren, Gabe and Rubi; sisters, Pat (Gary) Christensen and Verna (Larry) Lauritzen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8th at 12:00 Noon at the Rose Park Center Ward building, 868 North Star Crest Drive. Friends and family are invited to visit at the church Friday evening, August 7th from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday morning from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West.
