Helen Boothe Pack

1917 ~ 2014

Helen Boothe Pack, age 96, passed away on January 9, 2014 in Layton Utah. She was born November 6, 1917 in Honeyville, the middle child in a family of five to Hyrum Meredith Boothe and Paulie Belle Tolman. She graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City and attended Weber College in Ogden. In 1945-46 she served a mission for the LDS Church in the Texas-Louisiana Mission where she was mission secretary to two presidents. Helen was married in the Logan Temple in 1952 to Fredrick Alonzo Pack and had two children. The family resided in Salt Lake, Jackson Wyoming and Fruit Heights Utah. Fred and Helen moved back to Salt Lake in 1978 to be near the temple, but he passed away shortly after in 1980. Helen then began working as office manager of the Canyon Road Towers condominium and later served as president of its governing committee. During this time, she also served a mission to the LDS Business College. She worked well into her 90's and over her lifetime served as Relief Society president six times, including once at LDS Hospital. She is survived by her son Rick (Jan), 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, son David, brothers Lamont, Wayne, Reed, and sister Dorene Coburn. She was a delight to all who knew her. Her family and friends will remember her laugh, stories, and testimony forever.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 am at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening 6-7:30 pm and from 9:30 to 10:40 am Wednesday morning at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
