  • Our most beloved Cori Elaine Porter returned back to our heavenly home on July 11, 2020. Cori was born on December 19, 1983 to Greg and Nona Porter and was the oldest of four children. Cori will be remembered for her tender and loving heart, tenacious drive, independent spirit, and her ability to always have a good time. Cori loved to attend concerts and would travel almost anywhere to see her favorite artists live. She loved being a cheerleader for her high school and for everyone in her life. After high school Cori worked her way through college and graduated as a dental hygienist. Cori was an avid lover and advocate for animals, especially her dog Mac. Cori was a foodie at heart and always loved to show others the best places to grab a bite to eat. You could often find Cori out on an adventure in nature through hiking, boating, snowboarding, or camping. She always loved to go to “her laughing place” at Disneyland with her family and make wonderful and lasting memories. The bond she had with her family, especially her dear mom, was truly her greatest treasure. Cori is survived by her parents, Greg & Nona Porter, brothers Zach & Devin (Celeste, Sloane-niece) Porter, sister Chloee (Samuel, Jace-nephew, Madison-niece) Butterfield and grandparents Kenneth & JuVene Porter. As well as many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Cori is preceded in death by her Grandparents Heber and Elaine Garside. A viewing will be held on Saturday July 18th, 2020 from 10 am- 12 pm at the Copperview Stake Center located at 12154 South 3600 West Riverton, UT 84065. Funeral services to follow at 12:30 pm and graveside dedication at Riverton City cemetery.

    Dear Nona-

I am so very sorry to see that your beautiful daughter has passed away.

My heart goes out to you (as does any parent who has lost a child) It is something that has happened out of order-so for a time your whole life will seem upside down. Trust in your spouse-those closest to you & your Heavenly Father. Help & comfort are only a Prayer away-even at the worst times ahead.

If you need anything-even a good listener please reach out.
    Love, Roberta

    Dear Porter Family,
Our hearts are filled with sorrow for your family at this time of grief. You are so very dear to us and so loved.
We know that our Father in Heaven and His Son have their arms wrapped around you. They will not leave you comfortless. They will come to you. (John 14:18)
This quote from Neal A. Maxwell has brought me peace and comfort at the passing of my loved ones. I hope it will touch your heart as well: "At Funerals our tears are genuine, but not because of termination-rather because of interruption. Though just as wet, our tears are not of despair but are of appreciation and anticipation. Yes, for disciples, the closing of a grave is but the closing of a door which later will be flung open with rejoicing." Much love, Ben and Laurel Deaver
