Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away April 25, 2016. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church touching the lives of many through her years of faithful service. She loved teaching genealogy.
She dearly loved her family and was a great example of love, acceptance and caring to all she came in contact with. She enjoyed her pets and wild animals as well as the outdoors and spending time at the family cabin.
Gail was born July 28, 1936 in Springfield, Vermont to Keith and Ruth Stearns. She joined the LDS Church in New England on April 6, 1958. She moved to Utah in 1961 to live with friends from her hometown. She married David Peay in the Salt Lake Temple on November 22, 1961.
She is survived by her husband; David, son; Rick (Ruth), daughters; Karen (Troy) Egbert, Linda (Rob) Ross and Amy (Michael) Bird, 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children as well as her sister Carol (Fred) Bock of Orange, CA and two brothers; Glenn (Barb) Stearns of Keene, NH and Chip (Lynne) Stearns of Springfield, VT and Aunt Dotty Cook of Chester, Vermont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith Francis and Ruth Houghton Stearns.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at the LDS Crescent 16th Ward, 275 E. 10600 S. in Sandy. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the church and from 9:30-10:45 am on Monday prior to the service. Interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Road (10600 S) in Sandy.
