Dean Leon Hill

1934 ~ 2016

The world lost a great man. Dean L. Hill passed away Wednesday , June 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Henry A. and Evelyn C. Hill. Graduated from West High School and attended the University of Utah. He married K. Joyce Baum on August 18, 1953. He was happily married 62 years to his childhood sweetheart. They both lived for each other. His greatest accomplishment is his four children who adored him. He devoted his life to his family. He found great joy in serving as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as a temple worker and in Priesthood Leadership callings. He served valiantly in the U.S. Navy. His career span of more than 50 years included Executive Leadership roles, with 25 years at ATandT. He was a man of all trades. He enjoyed sports, boating, traveling, landscaping, cooking, and building.

He will be remembered fondly by 20 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted wife K. Joyce Hill and children: Martin D. Hill (Debbie), Melanie J. Sovereen (Rick), Wendy Anderson (David), and Curtis B. Hill (Julie).

Preceeded in death by Henry A. Hill (Father), Evelyn C. Hill (Mother), and Don H. Hill (Brother).

A funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cameo Park Chapel at 8945 South 1700 East. A viewing will be held June 26, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Garden, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road ( 10600 S.) in Sandy and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at Elysian Gardens 1075 E. 4580 South in Millcreek.
