Carolyn Nielson

1941 ~ 2016

Carolyn Nielson, beloved daughter of Lafe and Melba Nielson, died suddenly Sunday evening April 10, 2016 of heart failure. Carolyn was born November 9, 1941 in Delta, Utah and was raised in nearby Hinckley. She was affectionately called "Babe" by her family. Later, her family moved to Salt Lake, where she graduated from Highland High School. She attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, studying languages and elementary education. Following her graduation from BYU, she taught school for a few years and later worked as a secretary.

Carolyn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She wrote, "The most precious thing in my life is my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Carolyn has two brothers, Joseph (Nanette, both deceased) and Ronald (Doris), now living in Draper, Utah. She was "Aunt Carolyn" to her 9 nieces and nephews and their children, who will remember her as the most kind and loving person ever. Oh, how they will miss her! Every family would be blessed to have an "Aunt Carolyn." To her, family was everything.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., with a viewing prior at 9:30 a.m. at the Murray 23rd Ward building, 755 E Three Fountains Drive, Murray, Utah. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
