Frank Dietmar Herrmann

1947 ~ 2016

Our pops, Frank Dietmar Herrmann passed away March 19th, 2016 for the ultimate best seat at RES. Dad was born on April 19th, 1947 in Cologne Germany. In 1956, Dad, Oma, Opa and our Aunt Ritz boarded the SS America and headed to America for a better life.

Our dad made his way through the Catholic system (we still don't know how) and graduated from Judge Memorial in 1965. Dad then went on to play college football at the U, thus creating a legacy of love for the University of Utah. Frank began to work for First Security Bank as a janitor and by willpower and determination, made his way to Executive Vice President of Corporate Properties Group for Wells Fargo. Dad retired with nearly 50 years of service.

Dad met our mom, Carol Hope Clardy Herrmann in 1969 when she offered him a beer. They were blessed to have nearly 47 years together. Mom and dad loved to travel and loved to always see who was right. Mom and Mia stood endlessly by dad's side all the way to the end.

Dad was greeted at the freshly gold spray painted gates by his parents Peter and Margarete Herrmann. Dad leaves behind his sister Marita Hadden and nieces and nephews who will miss dad dearly.

And then there's us . . . three of us kids, Matt Herrmann, Sara Baker and Becki (Scott) Byrne. The best thing as his kids we ever gave dad was his grandchildren. Dad loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world. AJ, Stone, Hayley, Jace, Jaxson, Stryker and Raven made dad smile every day.

A family open house will be held on Monday, March 28th from 6-8pm at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton at 3688 West and 12600 South.

A mass will be held in his remembrance on Tuesday, March 29th at 11:00am at St. John The Baptist church in Draper located at 300 East 11800 South. Please join us in celebrating our dad.

Because of dad's lifetime love of University of Utah athletics, please come in your Utah gear.
