Ruth Ellen (Hansen) Livesey passed away peacefully at her home on July 11, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 8, 1921, in Richfield, UT to Conrad and Rose Hansen. She was the eighth of fifteen children. Ruth married her sweetheart, Elbert McEwan Livesey, on August 26, 1940, and were later sealed in the Hawaiian Temple.
She was active in the LDS church and served in many callings including a Primary Teacher, Primary Presidency, Young Women's Presidency, and served as Relief Society President 3 times. She also served in the Salt Lake Temple as a Temple Worker. Ruth was an avid learner who loved to read, sew, quilt, crochet, garden and well into her 90's, kept up with modern technology.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters: Joan Johnson, Karla Laing, and Jenean Livesey; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as two brothers and one sister. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband.
The family would like to extend their thanks to family and friends for their care and compassion shared with Ruth and her family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 in the LDS 25th Chapel, 1145 West 500 South, Salt Lake City. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and on Thursday from 9:45-10:45 am, prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow services in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
