She had a special gift of growing plants, enjoyed sports and being outside, especially on the beach, where she and John had a summer home in Mexico. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was a talented seamstress, a great cook and was happy to share anything she made. She was quite a character and the family has many memories and stories to share.

She had a personality all her own. She was known for her quick wit, independence, determination, and great love of children. She was often found playing on the floor with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a soft spot for animals, cats especially. Through the years, if a cat came to her doorstep she would immediately welcome it into her home and give it great care.
