Howard Tadashi Nakagama

1949 ~ 2018

Howard Nakagama passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2018 due to congestive heart failure. Born on January 1, 1949 to Kenji and Yoshiko Nakagama in Salt Lake City, he graduated from West High School and the University of Utah. Howard worked in accounting and sales for many years but his true passion was baseball. He coached and taught young players for years, was a professional scout for the Chicago White Sox for 15 years, and kept score for the Salt Lake Bees for over two decades. He will be remembered as an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the Utah Utes and Utah Jazz.

Howard is survived bysiblings Janice (Brandt) Hutchison, Shauna (Kelly Perkins), and Alan (Sharon); niece Kelli; nephews Christopher (Ashley) and Nicholas, and their children. His sports wisdom and dedication to family will forever be missed.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, January 12 at 11 am at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City).
