Frank William Shaw

1927 ~ 2014

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on the evening of Saturday, July 5, 2014. He died peacefully at his Salt Lake City home surrounded by his family.

Frank was born to Frank and Melva Shaw on April 4, 1927. He married Doris Petersen and they had a long and beautiful marriage. Together they raised their two wonderful sons in Salt Lake City, UT. Frank was a proud veteran having served in the US Army during WWII. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in accounting. He spent his working years as supervisor at Job Services and also worked part-time with his best friend, Jay Lang, at a CPA firm for more than 40 years.

In addition to his career, he was a "jack of all trades" with a contractor's license and experience as a mechanic. He used his skills to help his family and friends all his life. He loved trucks and owned several of them over the years including a large dump truck that he used to haul sand and gravel to buildings all across the city.

Frank dearly loved to travel and visited countries all around the world with his wife, Doris. They hosted countless parties and Canasta Club gatherings in their home and loved being surrounded by friends and family. Frank had a quick sense of humor, was friendly, outgoing and was loved by all. He will be deeply missed.

Frank is survived by his wife Doris, sons Frank William II (Lillian), and Scott Sr. (Vonny), six grandchildren: Frank Michael Shaw, Rebecca Shaw, Emily Shaw Schoenfeld, Scott Shaw Jr., Brian Shaw, Kristen Shaw Ralphs and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Jason Shaw.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30pm prior to the services. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
