Andrew Michael Herrera passed away on June 5th. He was born in Sandy, Utah on the morning of May 8, 1995 to Marco R. Herrera and Gerri Lynn Speirs Herrera.
Andrew loved video games, especially multi-player role playing games. He relished taking on the role of dungeon master in, for example, Dungeons and Dragons. On one occasion he spent nearly a year creating the background for a gaming adventure. Andrew also spent three years at the University of Utah working toward a video game programming degree. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick mind, imaginative concepts (including those he thought up in his role as dungeon master), and sharply-formed opinions.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Marco and Gerri, his brother Stephen (Kimi), two uncles (Russell and Kevin), an aunt (Mary), and a cousin (Roberta).
Funeral services will be held on June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints located at 2215 East Roosevelt Avenue. Viewings will be held on June 11th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the same church, as well as on June 12th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services.
Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn at 2350 East 1300 South.
