Dora May Turner Peck

1932 ~ 2018

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on April 3, 2018, from pancreatic cancer. Dora was born in Hunter, Utah, on February 10, 1932, to George Anderson and Harriet Fern Hartle Turner, and lived in Amboy, Washington, for much of her childhood. Married to John W. Gaster for 15 years, she was blessed with five wonderful children. Dora later married Jarvis D. Peck in 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple, who was the joy and love of her life, and was blessed with another glorious daughter. Dora, a person of strong moral character and independence, loved people and quietly being of service. Some of her greatest joys involved doing things to help others and ease their burdens. She was a creative soul who loved making special cards for people she cared about. Her grandchildren enjoyed many special Christmas and birthday gifts and handmade quilts that were crafted with love and with careful attention to detail. Her love for gardening and beautiful flowers were evident as each spring and summer she would fill her flower beds with colorful blossoms for all to enjoy. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dora served in many callings including ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president, temple ordinance worker, compassionate service leader, cub scout leader, and Sunday School teacher.

Dora is survived by her children, Glenna Gaster (Robert) Roundy, Sharon Gaster (Roger) Cook, John (Rebecca) Gaster, Doreen Gaster (Brad) Wilson, Melissa Peck (Nathan) Cox, Susan Peck (Glen) Burgess, Christine Peck (Ron) Casey, Debra Peck (John) Crangle, John Peck, and by 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Adeline Mackay, William Turner, Barbara ≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠≠Eliason, Leola Stanley, Gerald Turner, and Carol Hutchings.

Preceded in death by her parents, George A. and H. Fern Turner, husband, Jarvis Dewayne Peck, son, Joel Whitney Gaster, son-in-law, Ron Casey, grandsons, Jason Barrett and Joshua Burgess, and siblings, Stephen Turner, Norval Turner, and Marion Turner.
