Richard (Rick) Votaw was born Feb 17, 1949 and passed away on August 17, 2016 due to complications of liver cancer. Rick was born in Downey California to Walter Votaw and Maxine Cotton Votaw. He was married to Karrie Bearden Votaw in the L.A. Temple on September 15, 1973.
Through the years Rick had many opportunities for service in his Church, in Scouting, in the Air Force and in politics. His greatest joy came from the service given to his family and friends.
Rick is survived by his wife Karrie Votaw, his sons Joel (Jaime), Jeremy (Allison) and Joshua (Meri) Votaw by his 6 grandchildren, Jonas, Ethan, Carson, Jenna, Brooklyn, and Marin Votaw and his 2 siblings Rhett Votaw and Linda Davis Votaw. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Maxine Votaw.
Services will be heldThursday, August 25. 2016 at 10 AMat the LDS Church at 2195 E. Pepperwood Rd. in Sandy, UT. Viewings will be heldWednesdaynight,August 24thfrom6-8 PMat Larkin Sunset Gardens located at 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy, UT and Thursday from 9-9:45 AM prior to services at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
