YVonne Noreen Fowkes Rasmussen

1924 ~ 2018

Our Beloved Mother and Grandmother returned to her Heavenly Father, on Friday December 21, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born to Joseph V. and Mamie R. Fowkes in Rock Springs, Wyoming on April 22, 1924. On October 20, 1945 YVonne was married to David C. Rasmussen, and later they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Bentson, Stanley, and a sister Beth and her husband David. She is survived by her children, Noreen Samowitz, Sharon (Larry) Auger, David (Angie) Rasmussen, Rick Rasmussen, 13 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.

YVonne was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings including Relief Society President and Young Women's President. She also held positions as an instructor, and her favorite callings were those that allowed her to teach. YVonne and her husband David served as temple workers in the Jordan River temple. One of her greatest joys was having her four children and their spouses together with her at the dedication of the Jordan River temple.

YVonne shared a love of history with her Husband David, especially Church history and she was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers organization and served as a Camp Secretary for many years.

Most of YVonne's working career was in the health care industry where she earned her certification as a medical administrator, and she worked in several physician's offices in that role. She also taught certification classes at a technical college.

YVonne's first love though, was always her family, and she was happiest when she had them gathered around her.

YVonne's family extend their eternal gratitude to all of her wonderful friends and staff at The Wentworth at Willow Creek facility, and her care givers from Bristol Hospice, especially Jennifer and Kristen, for the loving service they have provided these past nine months.
