Lillie Mae Hale

1929 ~ 2019

Lillie Mae Pedersen Hale, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and best friend passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019. She was born in Burley, Idaho on March 3, 1929 to Steffen Pedersen and Alma Margrethe Petersen Pedersen.

In her occupation, she served as the District Coordinator of food services at the Salt Lake City Board of Education. She retired after 25 years of service. She then worked in the private sector as an executive in corporate food service for 10 years. She finished her working career at Walmart. When she retired in 2016, she was 86 years old.

Lillie was one of seven parents to start the Salt Lake oral extension program for the deaf. She worked on behalf of her daughter, Debra, who is hearing impaired.

Her favorite things were cooking, baking and working outside in her yard.

Lillie married her sweetheart, David Alma Hale on June 24, 1949 in Burley, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 28, 1965.

Lillie is survived by her son, David Jr. and her daughter, Debra. 5 grandchildren, Tricia, David III (Jalene), Lincoln (Anna), Nicholas and Emily. 7 great grandchildren, Lincoln II, Shiloh, Micah, Selah, Zion, Dawson and Everett. Sister-in-laws, Isabelle Pedersen, Lillie Pedersen, Helen Gray, and Martha (Edwin) Bench. She is preceded in death by her husband, David, mother and father and 6 brothers and sisters and her grand-daughter, Tricia Hale.

Funeral services will be held at the Utah Crescent Ridge Stake Center, 1265 East, 11000 South, Sandy, Utah on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
