Paul Vern Cochrane

1944 ~ 2017

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game"

Our dad, "Poppy", husband, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 20, 1944 to Art and Beth Cochrane.

Paul was an organist and an organizer. He was a friend to everyone, a humble and sweet man and a really good sport. He loved music, jokes and trivia, but most of all, he loved attending all nine of his grandchildren's activities. Paul served an LDS mission in Sydney, Australia, graduated from the University of Utah in business, and was a scout master for many years. He was the organist for the Salt Lake Gulls, Golden Eagles Hockey and the early years of the Utah Jazz. Paul also worked for the Utah State tax commission until retirement. His favorite times were spent with his children and grandchildren, attending University of Utah sporting events, fishing, boating and skiing. He never thought of himself, and he loved keeping family memories and records in numerous journals and albums. Paul and his wife Pam just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in March. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Paul is survived by his wife Pamela Price Cochrane, siblings Steve Cochrane, Ken Cochrane, Peggy Chastain and Keith Cochrane. He leaves his three children Paula Heyn (Rob), Preston Cochrane (Brooke), and Philip Cochrane (Heather) and nine grandchildren.
