Our loving sweet mother, Betty Lamar (Wells) Kurtz returned to heaven on September 26, 2018 in Virgin, Utah. She was surrounded by her family.
Betty was born on November 20, 1931 in Myton, Utah. She spent her summers on a sheep ranch with her cousin Margie and her aunt and uncle Gladys and Bill Harris. She moved to Salt Lake in her teen years and worked at the Utah Theater as an usher. She also worked as an interior designer and designed kitchens. She loved to be in the mountains and spent her retired years in the Ashley National Forest with her husband Edwin Kurtz.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Kurtz and children Cyndie Moore (Rick), Robert Andrews, Craig Andrews (Ronda), Brian Andrews (Joy), and Eren Hicks (Greg) as well as step-children Mark Kurtz (Nan) and Monica Pakcyk (Al), along with 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her father Robert Kirtley Wells, mother Illa May Marsing Wells and sisters Lee Wells Fortunato, Jeanne Wells Hansen, Gilda Wells, Shirley Wells Ratterman, Charlie Wells Russillo and her many loved puppies.
Her greatest joy was her family. She will be missed by us all so very much.
Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
