David Wilson Pratt

1927 ~ 2013

Dave (also known as the ‘fastest Bishop') finally ran to the other side after ‘sort of' helping Patsy raise 8 children. After enjoying our 3-day ‘early Christmas Party' Dave left peacefully surrounded by his family. Dave was born on March 12, 1927 to Dolores McEwan Pratt and Wilson Pratt; he spent 65 years of marriage to Patsy Rae Patten Pratt, and together they were blessed with 8 children, 29 grandchildren, and 49 great-grandchildren.

At age 86, Dave was preceded in death by many - but notably preceded by his sister Marian, son Cortny, grandson Bobby, and daughter Cynthia. He is survived by his wife, Patsy and their children: Debbie and Robert, Jill and John, Wendy, Kim, Dave, Lance and Lauri.

Dave always wanted a brother, but had only one sister. He often said, that he ‘finally found a brother in his relationship with Jesus Christ'. He loved the gospel and became active through the Church sports programs, serving many people throughout his life.

Dave proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, bowling, and playing cards with good friends. He genuinely loved and appreciated his life! Dave was an Eagle Scout and very competitive in all that he did, having very high expectations of everyone around him. He had a vibrant personality and sense of humor that was enjoyed by some more than others (according to the recollection of his 5 daughters when they were teenagers).

Alzheimer's disease stole Dave's mind, memories and finally his body. The only consolation was the enjoyment he found this past year watching his sons (ages 49 and 52) play professional baseball, professional golf, or any other sporting event Patsy wanted to watch on TV. He will miss seeing both of them play in Super Bowl XLVIII. (We are all attempting to keep Dave's sense of humor!)

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S Sandy, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Monday evening, November 25 from 6:00 p.m. ‚ 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

The family would like to suggest a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alz.org) in lieu of flowers.
