F. David Patterson

1922 ~ 2015

F. David Patterson passed away on December 3rd in Salt Lake City, Utah. David was born in Clinton, Utah on July 4, 1922 to David Frank and Pearl Beus. David married Phyllis Forrer in the Salt Lake Temple on September 28, 1945. She passed away on July 25, 1951. David married Marie Krebs Nielsen in the Salt Lake Temple on January 20, 1953. David was an active member of the LDS Church serving in various capacities including Bishop of the Clinton 3rd Ward. David and Marie served as Executive Secretary and personal secretary, respectively, to the Mission President on Temple Square. David also served missions at the Daughters of Utah Pioneer museum (as docent over machine implements) and as a Vocational Trainer at the Deseret Industries. David and Marie also served on the President's Leadership Council at BYU. He is also a veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II.

David was involved in a family business wherein they farmed and operated a feedlot in Clinton. It was when his sons exhibited a desire to follow in their father's footsteps that they moved to Paul, Idaho and continued business there. David retired at 72 and moved to Salt Lake City.

David's first priority was his family. He is survived by his wife, Marie, five children: Carol (Marty) Kelsey, Cindy (Greg) Adams, David (Cindy) Patterson, Arnold (Cecilia) Patterson, Mary Jayne (Jeffrey) Child; 25 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings Jack Patterson and Leora Anderson. Preceding him in death is a daughter Cheryl and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntsman Cancer Center or Primary Children's Medical Center. The family wishes to thank the Rocky Mountain Hospice team for their loving care.
