Geneil Emilie Tyler

1935 ~ 2016

Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Geneil Emilie Tyler, returned to our Heavenly Father August 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Her passing is met with mixed emotions. We will miss her deeply and be forever grateful for the love and happiness she brought to our lives.

Geneil enjoyed a very happy life based on the Savior and his Gospel. Living in an L.D.S ward participating in MIA, Primary, Relief Society and Sunday school with their responsibilities and myriad of blessings was the joy of her life. Geneil loved participating in sporting events: walking, jogging, skiing (member of Granite High's team that won the Knudsen Cup in 1951, 52 and 53), biking, bowling (didn't like it much), tennis, and golf, to name a few. She was a talented self-taught seamstress and used her abilities to enrich the lives of her family, her friends and the church community she served. In work and play she was forever mindful of her commitments to the teachings of the gospel.

She was blessed with a loving husband, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Geneil's family is her crowning jewel. Ron and Geneil enjoyed a very loving marriage. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 17th, 1953. Their children were brought up in this environment which influenced their lives. Their knowledge of the reality of the Savior and the restoration of the Gospel with its many blessings was the guiding star in her family. A former Stake president and good friend of the family told her recently that she was an "elect lady". She is indeed an "elect lady".Geneil had a smile that could light up a room. We will forever miss that smile.

Geneil is survived by her husband Ronald Tyler, sister Darlene MacDonald, four daughters: Cindy L. (Richard) Watkins, Lezlee A. Jensen, Stacy Y. Tyler, Mindy S. (Kevin) Orgill, twelve grandchildren; Aleisha Verbaas (2), Michael Watkins (3), Mandy Taylor (4), Stephanie Dicorato (1), Tyler Watkins, Emilie Jensen, Jay Jensen, James Jensen, Jessica Heath, Cassandra Orgill, Samantha Orgill, Parker Orgill, ten great grandchildren, two nieces and six nephews, and several adoring canine; Bella, Bruce and Alta. She is preceded in death by her parents Emilie E. Nelson and Elliott G. Hartwell as well as her dogs Tootsie, Sugar, Tricia, and Tiger guy.

Friends and family are welcome to visit and join in the celebration of her life on Thursday evening August 25, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy.
