Oris Mabey Christensen passed away peacefully at home in Farmington, Utah, on Friday, July 24, 2015, at the age of 88. She was born to Thomas Mabey and Eliza Margaret Jones on February 19, 1927, in Oakley, Idaho, the youngest of ten children. On March 2, 1947, she married the late Ross Harold Christensen. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 2, 1959. They lived most of their lives together in the Rose Park area of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by their four children, Diane (Brent) Mecham, Ray Harold (Rosanne) Christensen, Rhonda Margaret (Kevin) Bullock and Patsy (Jed) Spencer, as well as 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She served others in many capacities. As an active member of the LDS church she served in many callings, including several Relief Society Presidencies and as Primary teacher. She loved singing and sang in the ward choir. She worked tirelessly in the PTA and was the first president of the newly organized Rose Park Literary Club. She helped raise money and collect book donations for the new library. She was always watchful over the needs of friends and neighbors. She enjoyed her membership and association with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

She loved reading and listening to audio books. In her later years she fulfilled a life-long desire to learn to draw and paint, filling her home with her beautiful paintings and ceramic artwork. The sound of music often filled her home as she sang and listened to radio and recorded music, inspiring the love of music in her children. She was their greatest support as they developed their own musical talents.

She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She blessed those around her through her example of Christ-like love and service as well as her positive attitude, strength in adversity and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and all nine of her brothers and sisters.
