Kathleen Kaye Baker Petty returned home to our Father in Heaven on Saturday, February 7, 2015. She was born on September 21, 1937 to R.O. Baker and Elma June Smith in Murray, Utah. She married her sweetheart John Clayton Petty on August 26, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Kathleen worked side by side with her sweetheart at Petty's Meat Packing Co. in Riverton, Utah until 1974. She then transitioned to the insurance industry supporting Dale A. Josephson Co., later retiring from the Fred A. Moreton Co. She was an active member of the LDS church serving in various callings throughout her life. Kathleen and John served an LDS mission together in Florida.
She is survived by her children: Reed (Janet) Petty, Harrison, Arkansas; Karrie (Jeff) Phillips, SLC, Utah; Becky Petty, Wellington, Utah; Kaylene (John) Stephens, Finksburg, Maryland; Nancy (Scott) Hicks, West Jordan, Utah, 25 grandchildren, 33 and counting great grandchildren. Siblings: Rita (Marv) Robbins, Joseph (Karen) Baker, Bonnie (Bob) Tolman, Phil (Lynette) Baker, LaRee "CuQee" (Bill) Martin. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Clayton Petty, her parents, and her siblings Elma Jensen and Ray S. Baker.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Draper 2nd Ward, 1617 E. 12700 S. Draper, Utah at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, Utah from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 pm and at the church on Friday, February 13 from 9:30 ‚ 10:30 am.
