Marion Moizer

1939 ~ 2020

Marion Moizer passed away suddenly February 27, 2020 in Herriman, Utah. She was born on November 20, 1939 in Chesterfield, England to Sylvia and Arthur Bacon. She graduated from St. Helena High School in 1956 and met her husband of 56 years, Ken, while working at Birtley Engineering as a draftsperson. After marrying in 1963 and having two children, Sandra and Paul, they all followed Ken's job half way around the world. They moved to Calgary, Canada in 1970 and then to Salt Lake City in 1975.

Marion worked a part time job while in Calgary for Gulf Oil plotting oil wells, but was mostly a stay at home mom who always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She never missed a soccer or hockey game and went to so many games, they morphed simply into "sockey" games.

When the kids grew up, she worked various jobs in Salt Lake, including being an Avon Lady, a draftsperson, and a salesperson at both Castleton's and Wm. Zinke's where she enjoyed building relationships with co-workers and customers.

Marion was an avid gardener, who always had the best garden in the neighborhood, even being called "the flower lady" by some of the neighborhood kids. She also loved to travelling with Ken and her family, going to many European, Canadian and American destinations. She especially loved the National Parks and the English countryside.

The following is an excerpt of her favorite poem, "God's Garden" by Dorothy Gurney:

The kiss of the sun for a pardon,

The song of the birds for mirth,

One is nearer God's heart in a Garden

Than anywhere else on earth.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Arthur and sister-in-law, Brenda Bacon.

She is survived by her husband, Ken; 3 brothers, David (Noreen), John (Pamela), and Frank; her daughter, Sandra; son, Paul (Leslie), and grandchildren, Caitlin, Emma, and Kieran and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of sending flowers, please plant a flower in her honor, or share a flower with a loved one or even a stranger. Pass on her love of flowers to others while sharing your favorite memory about Marion and spending time with your family and loved ones.

The family will be having an open house "Celebration" of Marion's life on Monday, March 9th from 7:00 ‚ 9:00 pm at Cactus and Tropicals, 12252 Draper Gate Dr, Draper, Utah.
