Vera Fern Knapton Timothy

1921 ~ 2014

Vera Fern Knapton Timothy age 92 passed away peacefully on Friday May 9, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 10, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walter T. Knapton and Sarah Estelle Redmond. She married Doyle S. Timothy on August 2, 1939 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 10, 1949. Our beautiful Mom and Grandma was a fabulous cook all her family loved her sugar cookies! She also enjoyed shopping and fixing up her home. She was very proud of her home and kept it immaculate. She enjoyed an occasional trip to Wendover, loved camping, fishing and deer hunting with her family. She was very proud of her four boys and appreciated all they did for her. She enjoyed attending church with her sister Kay.

Fern is survived by her four sons: Doyle (Jo), Dick (Colleen), Ned (Joyce) and Byron (Tamara). She is also survived by her sister Kay Bawden and brother Don Knapton. She leaves behind a long legacy of love 20 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and 22.5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters June North, Mildred Bouck, Margaret Winkelkotter and brothers Calvin Knapton, Royal Knapton, Lewis Knapton and Dale Knapton. Also preceded in death by daughter-in-law Karen Timothy, grandson Andrew Timothy, great granddaughter Riley Bronson and great-great grandson Andrew Tilt.

We appreciate all those that helped honor Grandma\s wishes of being able to stay in her home the past year and half. Special thanks to Doyle, Dick, Ned, Byron, and grandchildren Tracy, Tammy and Savannah Bronson, Nicole Wardle, Debbie Young, Georgette and Zac Redford, Todd, Holli and Amanda Timothy, Steven, Tina and Kaylie Hutchings, Camille Timothy and Clint Timothy. Special thanks to Shanica Berry for all the love and care you gave to grandma. We would also like to thank Amber Green for always keeping Grandma\s hair so pretty.

Services will be heldWednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11:00 amat Mount Jordan Third Ward, 8950 South 400 East, Sandy, Utah. Viewing one hour prior to services or friends and family may callon Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pmat Larkin Mortuary Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton, Utah. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah.
