Barbara Ann Van Huizen (74) passed away on April 25, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Barbara was born in Salt Lake City on April 11, 1943 to Harold Edgar Bland and Izona Pearl Bland. She married her childhood sweetheart, Bart Van Huizen on May 6, 1959.
Barbara loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandkids and family. They would go camping, fishing, hunting, take trips, and visit cemeteries. She liked to watch the Greenbay Packers play football, and enjoyed gardening. She especially loved to play games with her family, and would stay up all night playing games with grandkids. She took great care of her own mother, and would spend time and play games with her as well.
Barbara was creative beyond belief—she loved painting her windows for all holidays, and was the best at making amazing holiday crafts out of nothing but things like cardboard boxes and baby food jars. She was kind, loving, caring, and filled our lives with joy. She will be missed greatly.
Barbara is survived by her siblings Shirley (Bob), Marilyn, Beverly, and Richard (Susan); Her children Cyndi (Kent) Larsen, John (Thelma) Van Huizen, Dave (Charlene) Van Huizen, Danielle (Scott) Graham; Her grandchildren Shaune (Aupera), Amber (Tyler), Marissa (Kevin), William, April (Dave), Jaclyn, Crystal, Annalena, David Jr., Joshua, Arian, Toni, Dallas (Jessica), and Preston; And Her great-grandchildren Michelle, Bryan, Raylin, Riley, Ryker, Shalyn, Lucas, Madeline, Dominic, Cash, Sadi, Meloni, and Casper. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Douglas and Ronald, great grandson Rayden, brothers-in-law, and Bart, her loving husband of 54 years.
Friends may call Sunday, April 30 from 6pm-8pm. A visitation will also be held Monday, May 1, 2017 from 10:00 am ‚ 11:45 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah, followed by graveside services at 12:00 noon at the same location.
