Turman Edward Hofhine

1919 ~ 2016

Turman Edward Hofhine passed peacefully away amongst family on August 23, 2016 at the age of 96.

He was born on December 3, 1919 to Turman Joseph Hofhine and Emily Hilda Hellmich in Salt Lake City, UT.

He married Marjorie Lewis on February 21, 1939, in Salt Lake City, UT.

Turman graduated from Granite High School and later served in the 3501st Airforce for two years during World War II. He owned a service station for Standard Oil and later worked and retired from HOWA Construction. He served in various church callings including temple worker at the Jordan River Temple. He had a passion for gardening and was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his six children, daughter Judy (Robert) Lucas, son Gary (Kathy) Hofhine, son Bill (Mary) Hofhine, son Tom (Sue) Hofhine, son Mike Hofhine, and daughter Marilyn Buehner, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife Marjorie Lewis and brother Richard Hofhine.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 12pm, Cottonwood 1st Ward, 5913 S. Highland Drive. Visitations will be held on Saturday from 10-11:45am. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah.
