J. Donald Edwards

1934 ~ 2017

J. Donald Edwards was born in Montreal, Quebec, CA. He was the second child of five born to John Edwards and Elizabeth Birkett.

Don passed peacefully away in Sandy, Utah, surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Marblehead High School, MA. Upon graduating he joined the Air Force and served in the Korean Action and then in Europe. Using the G.I. Bill he then attended the University of Vermont as a member of the Class of 1961, where he met his future wife, Diana Jordan of DeWitt, NY.

Earning a CLU, he worked for Travelers Ins. Co. 15 years and also taught various classes in this discipline. As a group insurance agent, he worked many more years for Sumner and Sumner, Ins. Agency of Willimantic, serving Windham Hospital, the Town of Coventry, the Visiting Nurses Association and many other businesses.

He is survived by his wife Diana, his children, Erik, Robin, Katie, and his sister Elisabeth Ovitt, 6 grandchildren, 7 nieces and 5 nephews.

Don loved a good joke and his favorite saying was, "you've got to have a chuckle a day." Another favorite of his was to ask a waiter, "Are there any specials today on baby blue Ferraris?"

Graveside services will be held in early June at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, UT.
