Jesse Barlow

1932 ~ 2014

Jesse P. Barlow, 81 of Huntington Beach, California passed away April 28, 2014 at his home. He was born September 21, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ora Haven Barlow and Hannah Melvira Higgs. He attended schools in Salt Lake City and was a graduate of East High School. He continued his education at the University of Utah with emphasis in Physics. He also became a student of computer science and became a specialist in the field. As he progressed in the profession, he worked in Livermore, CA, followed by Idaho Falls, Idaho at the Idaho National Laboratories. He then worked for General Electric in Phoenix, AZ and Liton Industries in Rosita - Huntington Beach, California.

On September 29, 1960 he married Sarah (I forgot to get your maiden name) in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they have made a wonderful family and a life time of service. Following retirement, Jesse and Sarah took the opportunity to serve as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Starting in 1999 they served in Muncie, Indiana followed by two missions to Atlanta, Georgia, and 5 years with the Costa Mesa institute as a Seminary Supervisor ‚ Principle.

Jesse had many hobbies. Of those, he loved to write and do crossword puzzles. His greatest love was for the study of the gospel and scriptures.

Jesse is survived by his wife Sarah Barlow, five sons; Kenneth (Mimi), Russ (Rebecca), Gordon (Sarah), Trevor (Marla) and Drew (Lynette) Barlow. A son in law, William Baldwin and 31 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anne Barlow, Aaron Barlow, Jeneen Baldwin and Nathan Barlow. Two grandchildren.

The family will greet friends Monday, May 5, 2014 at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT) from 7 to 9 PM. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.larkinmortuary.com.
