Steven Wendell Archibald

1962 ~ 2015

Steven Wendell Archibald passed away peacefully on November 4, 2015. He was born on November 26, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the third child born to Jay Delano Archibald and Doreen May Linnett Archibald. He graduated from Alta High School. He served an LDS mission to North Carolina. Steve earned his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering at BYU and worked at several companies including Cirque, Iomega, Bourne Electronics, and Hill Air Force Base. Steve was renaissance man—he loved to garden, run marathons, read (specifically Shakespeare and non-fiction), listen to music, and extend his family tree. His favorite vacation was the time that he took his parents to England. He was a dedicated son and caregiver to his elderly parents. Steve was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, his brothers Jay (Mary) and Cary (Jennifer), and his nephew and nieces: David (Casey), Karen, Laura, Cathy, and Sarah.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, aides, and other caregivers at LDS Hospital Bone Marrow Unit, the BMT Clinic and Promise Hospital. The family is grateful for the dedicated and loving care these facilities have given Steve over the past 14 months. The family would also like to thank Steve's co-workers from HAFB for their lasting friendships and support.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bell Canyon Ward located at 9880 S. 3100 E. in Sandy. There will be a visitation Tuesday, November 10 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Steve's final resting place will be in the Granite Cemetery.
