1924 ~ 2015

Our beloved "Bonnie", age 90, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, from, causes incident to age. She was surrounded by her adoring family. Born November 10, 1924 to Loron A. Marler and Velma Haslam, in Lewiston, UT, as the first of 4 children. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Duane Marler. She is survived by her brother Dale Marler and sister Diane Hoffman. On October 27, 1943 she married her high school sweetheart Clyde R. Gibson, in the Salt Lake Temple, who preceded her in death June 27, 2013. The only time they were separated was after two months of marriage during World War II for a period of 2 Ω years. She faithfully waited for Clyde to return. Together they had two children they adored, Linda Gibson Jones and Gregory Clyde Gibson (deceased). They had 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren (including one on the way), and 1 great - great granddaughter. "Family" was the most important priority of her life.

Bonnie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life. She served in many church callings and was particularly a faithful and devoted visiting teacher to many sisters who loved her. She had many interests in life, but her passion was golf. She was a member of the Tooele Women's Golf Association for many years and was very successful. Clyde always made sure she had everything she needed, even her own decked out golf cart. She competed in, and won, many tournaments during these years in her cute matching outfits. Bonnie was a bright, meticulous, and feisty woman, you always knew where you stood with her. She will be missed especially by her family who deeply loved her and by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde R Gibson, son Gregory C Gibson, grandsons Brandon Gibson and Loron Jacob Jones.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT at 11:00am, preceded by a viewing at 9:45am. We wish to thank the Staff at the Coventry Assisted Living Center and the Brighton Hospice Care for the loving kindness they showed her. Mom loved all the "people" who were there for her.
