Celeste Tswan Faun Yang, 36, of Salt Lake City, UT, died on August 28, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in a climbing accident on Mount Olympus.
Born on October 18, 1979 in Manhattan, Kansas she was the daughter of Jeanne and Winston Yang. Celeste received her M.S. Statistics and B.S. Mathematics at Kansas State University in Manhattan, and then later received her Ph.D in biostatistics in University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She found joy in the simple things in life: taking hikes, spending time with her beloved dog, Sparo, relishing sweet treats and visiting her mother. She loved being outdoors, and shared with everyone her deep appreciation of the beauty of God\s handiwork-from the smallest butterfly to the splendor of the mountain top.
Meek, with a generous and caring spirit, Celeste brought joy to all those who knew her. We will miss her every day, especially her infectious smile.
Celeste s survived by her mother Jeanne and siblings: Lisa and Winston.
Funeral services are expected to be held between 10 and 14 days.
Family asks that no flowers be sent until the funeral.
