Margaret Snarr Duder

1917 ~ 2016

Margaret was a valley girl from the get-go. She didn't want to leave Salt Lake, a place that was so familiar and comforting, for the unknown. Her daughters Leslie and Chris and her son-in-law Robert were with her early Monday morning on August 15th when her soul left Michigan Avenue for a gathering of dearly departed family and friends who have been waiting a long time to welcome her home.

Margaret was born to Thomas and Myrtle Snarr on July 18, 1917. She attended Uintah, Roosevelt and East High. It was while attending the University of Utah she met her forever partner John. They were married on New Year's Day 1944.

The magical journey was interrupted when their first baby, a boy, died shortly after birth. But life goes on and they were blessed with two more babies ‚ both daughters.

Margaret was a passionate reader and the chili sauce she made every summer was what we considered to be the best in the state.

Margaret loved to explore all the nooks and crannies in Utah and her trusty side kick was John. The two spent countless weekends taking road trips from one end of the state to the other revelling in the beauty and stories they would discover together. John preceded Margaret in death by 8 years. We are thrilled they are now exploring a new unknown together.

Left behind are her daughters Chris and her husband Robert, Leslie and her husband Jim and their 3 daughters Sarah, Allison (Matthew) and Jennifer (Evan) and great grandchildren Taylor and James.

A celebration of Margaret's life will be hosted by her family at the Duder home on Saturday afternoon, August 20th, 3 to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to your favorite charity.
