Rosalie Smith Livingston Williams peacefully passed away January 6, 2016, surrounded by her family. She courageously fought an extended battle with Alzheimer 's disease.
Rosalie was born April 26, 1931 in Blakesburg, (Ottumwa), Iowa, the daughter of Frank Smith and Pauline Smith Kennel. Rosalie is the precious wife of Jerry Williams, cherished mother of Tami, Michelle and Tommy, and stepmother of Jason and Megan. She was known as "Nana" and "Grandma Rosalie" by her loving grandchildren.
She was extremely energetic and successful in activities she selected. Rosalie was proud to be a Wave in the US Naval Reserves and served on active duty at Duluth, Minnesota and Great Lakes Naval Base for two years, during the Korean War. During later employment, she worked in credit collections and was Advertising Production Manager.
She and her husband Bill started Livingston Realty in 1970. Rosalie was Office Manager. Quoting Rosalie, "I decided to get my license in 1984, and I was hooked. I love the association with my clients and they all become my friends. I enjoy working in real estate-it becomes a way of life". As an accomplished real estate agent, she was a member of the "Million Dollar Club", receiving numerous sales awards.
Rosalie enjoyed volunteer work, and with the March of Dimes, was Mothers March Chairman, Telerama Chairman, Salt Lake County Chapter Chairman, Publicity Chairman, and Fashion Show Chairman. With the Salt Lake Council of Churches, she was Publicity Chairman, and among her accomplishments was "A Guide To Salt Lake City Churches". Rosalie was Eastmill Creek Jaycees Auxiliary President. For 10 years, she volunteered as an Aerobic Instructor in Cottonwood. Her great love was serving in the Jordan River LDS Temple for five years, and then in Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple for 1 Ω years.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, brother-Ken Smith, husband-Bill Livingston, and granddaughter-Missy Livingston. She is survived by her husband: Jerry Williams; children: Tami Livingston, Michelle (Kevin) Bingham, Tom (Suzy) Livingston; step children: Jason (Tiffany) Williams, and Megan (Joe) Evans, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 12:00 pm, at the Butler West Stake Center, 1845 East 7200 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Viewings will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd (10600 So.), Sandy, UT, Tuesday, January 12, from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 pm and Wednesday, January 13, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services at Butler West Stake Center.
