Delbert Stephen Tapp

1935 ~ 2017

Delbert Stephen Tapp devoted son, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on December 23, 2017 in South Jordan, Utah. Born August 29, 1935 in Midvale, Utah. He served with honor in the United States Army from 1955 - 1957, and in the Army Reserve 1957 - 1961, earning his airborne wings. During his military service, he always volunteered for the most difficult assignments. Married Dona Jean Ryan, later divorced, but remained lifelong friends. Delbert was employed by Kennecott Copper from 1954 through 1985. He began on the track gang and finished his career teaching electrical school. Delbert was a master electrician. He used his talents and skills for the benefit of family and friends. Many are the stories of electrical work he did for others free of charge.

He is survived by his daughter Holly Clark (Andrew) and son Dennis Tapp (Sandy), twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, brothers Lee Tapp, Verl (Sharon) Tapp, sisters Jeanette Mullins, and Marie (Earl) McKee. Preceded in death by his parents, and sister Erma and her husband Clark Withers and sister Donna and her husband John Wilkinson.

A viewing will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Midvale East Sixth Ward, 7250 South 300 East. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral services from 10:00 - 10:45 AM. Interment at Larkin Sunset Garden, Sandy.
